Nuke codes are 8-digit codes to launch a nuclear missile in Fallout 76. They are often referred to as Nuclear Launch Codes. These launch codes are changing every week. There are 3 different codes available each week. Each launch code is only valid in the corresponding nuclear silo: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie.

What are Nuke Codes in Fo76?
Nuke Codes are weekly changing codes to launch nuclear missiles in Fallout 76.
Nuke Codes always have 8 digits and are only valid in their corresponding nuclear silo: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. You can use the launch control terminal in any of these silos to specify a location on the map as a target for your nuclear missile.
Why would you launch a Nuke?
Launching nuclear missiles is an important endgame feature of Fallout 76. Nukes are used to e.g. spawn specific bosses and to change the fauna of the affected area. The radioactive flowers are required to craft fluxes, an important crafting component for serums, specific ammo, and modifications.
How to Unlock Nuclear Missiles
To launch a Nuke Code in Fallout 76, you need to finish the main quest line. After you’ve joined the Enclave as part of the main quest, the final quest will be “I am Become Death”. In this quest, you will learn how to launch a nuclear missile.
To avoid unnecessary spoilers we don’t go into detail here. But to unlock nuclear missiles you need to play the main storyline.
How to launch a Nuke in Fallout 76?
To launch a nuclear missile in Fallout 76 you have to complete the following 4 steps:
- Obtain a Nuclear Keycard.
- Select one Nuclear Silo and get the corresponding Launch Codes.
- Access the Nuke Terminal of your selected silo.
- Select the area you want to nuke.
Here are the steps in more detail:
1. Obtain a Nuclear Keycard
Select a Nuclear Keycard Escort mission from the Surveillance System Terminal in the Enclave base. You need to shoot down the Cargobot that is marked on your map. The Cargobot drops one Nuclear Keycard. Alternatively, you can obtain a Nuclear Keycard from seasonal rewards or other players.
2. Select one Nuclear Silo and get the corresponding Launch Codes
Use the Surveillance System Terminal to accept the mission for your favorite missile silo. You can choose between Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. You have to do this 8 times to get every piece of the code and decrypt them in the end. If you are successful, you get the nuke code for your silo.
The following map of Appalachia is powered by our Fallout 76 Map. The three silos are highlighted:
Shortly after Fallout 76 was released, there were community tools like Nukcrypt to decrypt codes. But since a decrypted launch code is identical for every player, it is not necessary to decrypt any codes yourself. You can use the Nuke Codes directly from above.
3. Access the Nuke Terminal of your Selected Silo
Travel to your favorite silo and fight your way through the silo. It’s mostly guarded by level 50 Sentry Bots and Aggressotrons. At the end of the silo, you will find a Nuke Terminal. Access the terminal and enter the launch code.
4. Select the Area you want to Nuke
You can now select an area on the map. The selected area will be hit by the nuclear missile. This will take a few minutes and there is a server-wide announcement for all players on that server. Don’t be in the blast radius when the nuke hits the ground.
How many Nuke Codes do you need?
If you want to launch a nuclear missile in Fallout 76, you need one nuke code: Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie. The only restriction is, that you need to use the code in the corresponding silo. E.g. in silo Alpha, only the Alpha Nuke Code will work.
But remember: you’ll need one Nuclear Keycard for every time you want to enter one code.
Where to find Nuke Codes in your inventory?
Open the Pip-Boy, select the entry Items, then Aid. Here you can find all Nuke code fragments your character has found.
They will disappear from the inventory whenever the Nuke Codes are changed. If this happens you’ll get a short notification after logging in.
When do Nuke Codes change?
In the first years after launch, the codes changed during the weekly reset on Tuesday for NA and EU. In late 2021 Bethesda changed the reset time. You can find the next reset time at the top of this document together with the current nuke codes.
