They decreased mycontact prescription for one eye and put mein atoric for the other. The one they decreased isblurry, and the new toric doesn't fit right. Iwas told atthe time ofthe visit that I'd get trials and mycard wouldn't becharged for the contact order until that went through. Instead, aweek later abox with the full order showed upand mycard was charged fully. Notrials.
Also, itwas frustrating that Ihad tosay I'd goget the lenses elsewhere due tothe unusually high pricethey were quoting mefor them todeclare that they'd actually price match depending onwhere Iplanned toshop. Soif you dogo here, ask for comparable prices to1800Contacts and Walmart. They won't doit for you unless youdo.Also, there was this surprise 40$ charge for taking some sort ofspecial photos that Iwas never told costed extra, and Inever agreedto. They just did it- Ididn't know until the end that itwas anadd-on fee soI didn't get achance toeven declineit. I've also not had that done before with other optometrists and have been going toone for 23years.
This place isa disappointment toour healthcare system and Iabsolutely donot recommend using them. Inow get toshell out more money togo toa second doctor toget this corrected.

I will say that the office isclean and all ofthe front office staff Iinteracted with were very friendly and efficient. Myexperience with the doctor, however, was much less pleasant.
I informed the doctor that Ijust needed anew prescription, and that Ihad been wearing mycontacts (from Warby Parker) for years and liked them. She informed methey didn't sell them and she had never heard ofWarby Parker? Isaid that was okay, Iwould order them separately. She seemed confused, and simply re
peated that she didn't sell them, but continued the exam. She did not seem like she cared once Isaid Iplanned toorder mycontacts elsewhere and simply wanted anexam. Upon leaving, Irealize that she had written mea script for alens Ihad never worn. Icalled toinquire, and was told Ineeded Warby Parker tocall toconfirm myprescription. Isaid noproblem, and Warby Parker called and were told they refused tospeak without mesigning awaiver (despite giving consent). Icalled back toask how tosign the waiver, and Iwas told again the doctor refused tomove forward asshe personally didn't sell that lens (i.e. won't make money). Itried toreach out 4times over the course ofthe next week toinquire about how toresolve the issue and never received asingle response. Iended upgoing toa new eye doctor, who told methat unfortunately this can been seen sometimes from “less ethical” eye doctors. Idon't know ifDr. Jing Guo iscorrupt orwillfully uninformed, but either isnot aquality Iwant inan eye doctor. Iwould avoid seeing her atall costs.… – show00

My previous myeyedr location was great. I've had less luck here. Iwas led tobelieve that ARcoating would minimize glare from photographs. Then Ifound out there's really noway todo that. They also told metheir eyeglass cleaner would prevent fog from mymask. Acustomer service rep reached out tome toclarify, which isgood. But the opticians here could focus more onthe customer experience.
Meantime, I'm going back toWarby Parker.

I have been going here for 3years because Ijust need anannual eye exam. They pushed meto get glasses Idon't really wear regularly and then push meto get new lenses every year. Once, Iagreed and they completely butchered the lenses and would not fix them unless Ipaid full price again. It's afine place toget anexam but I'm sofrustrated with how sales focused itis.

Just had the most positive experience atmyeyedr thanks toJac’con who was sokind and helpful. Heknew Ireally liked apair ofglasses Ihad gotten in2019and sohe made alist ofstores tocall and get them shipped tothis location. There was acustomer using acrutch and hemade sure toopen the door for him upon exiting tomake his day easier. Someone needs togive him araise.

Though Ihad anappointment and received 2confirmations (via email and text), when Iarrived atmy appointment 5minutes before the scheduled time, they claimed myappointment had been cancelled. They refused toseeme. Absolutely, unacceptable service.

The eye doctors and staff atthe Gallery Place location are outstanding. Inaddition tobeing technically skilled about what they are doing, they are talented inhelping choose the right frame and without adoubt are the warmest and kindest folks I've met ina store inyears. I had flown toDC for ajob interview and found with horror three hours before myinterview that Ihad left mycontacts and glasses athome. Everyone here (and especially Victoria!!) was sofriendly and patient inhelping menavigate the situation toget meemergency contacts. Their kindness made anotherwise stressful situation actually pleasant!

The reason for the two stars isnot the eye exam orthe friendliness ofthe sales staff, but the unsavory feeling ofthe high pressure pitch tobuy myprescription eyewear inthe same store. This ismy second time atthis store, soI was more aware ofthe tactic. During myfirst visit, the first time Ineeded eyewear, Iknew Ibought more than Ineeded inretrospect. This time Iwas more prepared because Idid research ahead oftime toestimate Iwould pay atother companies and locations forsimilar prescriptions Iwas likely toget. Frankly itfelt like walking into aused car sales floor. Idon't fault the sales people because Ifelt that itwas part oftheir job topressure customers.So, beaware when you walk inthat there isa high pressure tobuy your eyewear atthe store. Everyone who works here isso friendly! Their COVID procedures are great— they take your temp, give you afresh sterile mask, have hand sanitizer, and clean the stations thoroughly between each customer. I’ve been going here for two years now and they’re myfavorite eye doctor inDC— highly recommend!

I love coming here. The staff isso nice and competent. Service isalways fast but everyone isvery polite. Toya helped mepick out mycontacts, she explained everything thoroughly about myinsurance and made sure Iunderstood the cost and what was covered. Icome back here every year.

I was told the price would be$115for contact exam yesterday, made the appointment and came intoday 7/17/20. (DR. was great) but after the exam, the service woman told methe price was $257because itwas comprehensive and afree pair ofcontacts. Isaid Iwasn't going topay more than what Iwas told, and she suddenly lowered itto $197. Iwas then given the option toleave, without myprescription and had totake the “free” contacts out ofmy eyes. ISo Idid.
Terrible place. Move onto some
